Great Mother's Day Gift – The Snare of the Fowler Series
Three titles in the Series:Ensnared By Evil, Whom The Son Sets Free and Free Indeed
Backstory is an important part of character development, especially when writing fiction. The author must know what the main characters have experienced to know how to shape their knowledge and responses to the plot, emotions and tone, as well as how they will interact to events and with other characters on the page.
I am in awe of my client and friend, Carol S. Lacey, and her Series about Daphne, a Greek girl, from the book of Acts 16 in the Bible. She took one compelling verse that stayed in her mind for years and eventually created this wonderful Christian fiction series. “We often forget that the people in the Bible are real people with a backstory just like us,” said Carol S. Lacey. “I just kept wondering how did this young women come to be in this situation and since the Bible doesn’t tell us I decide to share what I imagined might have happened.”
She created a whole backstory for the sorceress only mentioned briefly in the Biblical text. She started with a location in Greece, her family history and place in that society where Greeks gods where openly and lavishly worshiped. Daphne is a young woman about to carry on her family’s heritage even though she has doubts about the validity and truth of these rituals.
Ensnared By Evil Book 1 introduces readers to Daphne, family, friends and unfortunate circumstances that lead to her being sold from a wealthy, influential lifestyle into one of fear and slavery where someone else controls her destiny and even her actions. Who The Son Sets Free Book 2 continues sharing with readers the journey that Daphne endures as she is carried far from all things familiar. Left wondering if she will ever see her family again and what terror awaits her in her new home and situation, Daphne must remain strong and keep her wits about her. When she meets the Apostle Paul, while carrying out her sorceress duties for her human masters, she experiences compassion and the promise of a life she can hardly comprehend. Although the perfect scripture verses flow throughout all three books, here Carol begins to go deeper into what a relationship with the one true God looks like.
Free Indeed Book 3 takes readers deeper into the life of a Christian. Daphne does indeed become free from slavery and free spiritually, but just like life, she still suffers many struggles with moments of joy. Now that she is free from her owners what choices will she make for her new life? Will she stay where she has found new love in Philippi? Will she return to Delphi to look for her family? Will she follow the Apostle Paul’s advice on how to live her life now that she is spiritually free? If you want to find the answers to these questions then buy these books, you won’t be disappointed.
