HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THIS NEWSLETTER
1. Take Notes
This Author Adventure Newsletter is your opportunity to establish what you really want, why you want it, and what your plan is for achieving it. You can do this, especially if you are committed to learning, writing, and investing in yourself and your dream.Â
2. Develop A Plan
A plan for writing, publishing, launching, marketing, and distributing your book will make all the difference between fun or frustration. Use the articles posted here as the outline for your plan and create your personal blueprint for a favorable publishing outcome.Â
3. Commit To A Timeline
The quickest way to achieve any goal is to give it a timeline. Build in a few extra days or weeks for holidays, unexpected issues (pandemics), or opportunities but map out a schedule to ensure a positive result.
Will you complete tasks in a few days, one week, one month, three months, six months, or 12 months? Although writing and publishing is an ongoing process, you need to set some milestones so you know you are making progress. That way you won’t get discouraged when challenges crop up as they always do.
Get a 12-month calendar and mark the deadlines for when you want to accomplish certain tasks (some examples but not a complete list):
Finish a chapter of your book
Get the cover designed
Choose an editor or publishing partner
Review editor’s recommendations
Finalize a draft of the copy
Approve the final pre-press layoutÂ
Develop your email marketing launch campaign
Contemplate a book pre-release plan
Send the finished layout to the online platforms
Date to deliver your books (have in your hands)
4. Start Identifying Resources Early
It is never too soon to be thinking about what resources you can identify to help you when you really need them. I will be sharing resources on a regular basis: software, email capture, landing page, web hosting, social media support, marketing programs, and more. So be sure to come back often or subscribe to get the newsletter direct to your inbox.
As you move through the writing, publishing, launching, marketing, and distributing process you should always have in the back of your mind what resources you may need to help you accelerate or expand your reach.Â
This might be a co-author, accountability partner, editor, designer, production artist, videographer, autoresponder system, experienced book launch marketing specialist, publisher, printer, storefront, promoter, distributor, webmaster, social media specialist, or another individual, company, or online tool.
I am excited to be sharing my hard-earned lessons with you so that you can avoid some of the mistakes I made and furthermore, helping you accelerate your adventure. I also look forward to telling you about the secrets that successful authors know that you don’t know so that you too can experience the joys and successes that come with this most unique and extraordinary journey –– the journey of becoming a best-selling author.
