2024 Texas Library Conference in San Antonio
We had a BLAST sharing our stories with school and public librarians
We just returned from the 2024 Texas Library Conference in San Antonio held every April in various cities around Texas. We had the opportunity to meet school and public librarians from all over the state and to share our author adventures with them.
If you are an author or a potential author then you need to add the state library conference to your marketing plan. Every state should have one as there are chapters all across the United States of America but if not there should be one in a state near you. You also can plan to attend the big show the American Library Association (ALA) conference which is the next level up.
Many of our Dynamic Authors Group have attended over the years and this year, besides myself and my partner/co-author Russ Johns, we add almost all new authors Christine A. Smith, Dave and Marilyn Osborn, D. Scott Smith, Merrie Spaeth (who attended TLA Austin in 2023 before her books were published) and Cindy Vanous (whose books are coming out this summer). Merrie and Cindy wanted to gain some knowledge and make connections and you can do the same.
Dave and Marilyn Osborn had big smiles at TLA24 - Dave is the author of The Adventures of Piper Series about their rescue puppy and Taking Charge a leadership guide for those looking to move up in their organization.
Conferences are just one way you can get one-on-one with people to share your author adventure. I will be sharing other ways in future posts so be sure to share this newsletter with any friends who are writing a book or want to write a book, You also can go back to previous articles and find other marketing strategies.
Until next time … cheers to your writing success and an awesome author adventure! Liz
